Natalie Godefroy – About Me

Beauty and aesthetics have always been a passion of mine. As a teenager, I played with makeup and style, and my work experience at 15 was at the perfumery counter at our local Betties, Birkenhead. I loved the experience and knew I wanted more.

However, it wasn’t just the temporary nature of makeup that attracted me, I wanted to know more, and get a deeper understanding. This led me to training as a dental nurse after I left school, giving me a clinical background and knowledge that I still use to this day.

The glitz and glamour of London called to my 18 year old self. So I left home, and headed off to find fame and fortune in the big city. And wow, did I find glamour! Working for Estée Lauder and Yves Saint Laurent, I was in my element. The difference in quality of premium brand cosmetics amazed and fascinated me… but I knew there was more to this aesthetic thing than just powder and paint.

Life has a habit of sending you down a different road than what you expected or planned for. My new road was 4 children within 6 years, and a 10 year sabbatical from my career. However, I began freelancing as a makeup artist and took the plunge in 2008 and trained in permanent cosmetics. This was so exciting for me and tapped into so many of my interests and skills.

Browsing the adverts in the back of The Times magazine, I spotted an opportunity: celebrity makeup artist Daniel Sandler was looking for freelance makeup artists… well, why not, I thought. Not only did I get the job, I trained in Harrods and assisted him on celeb photo shoots including Jade Goody’s wedding in 2009.

The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and I seized the opportunity to work alongside celebrity makeup artist Nilam Holmes in her clinic in Milton Keynes. Nilam is the eyebrow queen, has built a beauty empire (and moved on) co-developed and owned the HD Brows, now High Definition Beauty, brand. Through Nilam, I was introduced to Dr Saleh, the founder of the Collagen Wave treatment. This collaboration of beauty technology and aesthetics really made me buzz – this was definitely the career space that I wanted to be in. I took this one step further and attended night school to gain full beauty therapist status.

I became a HD Brow trainer for Nouveau Contour, the leading worldwide manufacturer of professional permanent make up colours and equipment.

And then it was time to bring these iconic treatments for the first time Leicestershire – setting up a clinic in 2011 at Union Wharf. Bringing all my training and knowledge together, my artistic background and aesthetics, the clinic enabled me to craft my own team, training them and continuing to learn with them. In 2017 we added aesthetic injectable techniques to our skills, and became qualified phlebotomists in 2018.

With our move last year to new premises we’re able to deliver superior services and treatments that complement and blend together in support of our ethos of clean beauty. My love of colour and glamour still shines through everything I do, and my team share my vision of providing the very best service – without bending to gimmicks and trends, we work with proven methods and technologies to deliver the best of the best.

I know, first hand, the challenges for women – our family responsibilities whilst trying to have your own identity, and stay youthful and attractive… it’s hard to be all of those things all the time! The celebrity, Insta culture of perfection is at every turn, and whilst I do not agree with the anxiousness that this can embed within some people, the expertise that you find within my clinic will enhance your own beauty, and enable you to feel more you.
