Is Botox safe?
This may be the most frequently asked question in the aesthetic industry.
‘Botox’ otherwise officially known as Botulinum toxin is a tool used to reduce signs of ageing.
How? What am I putting into my skin?
Botulinum toxin blocks nerve signals transmitted from the brain to the muscle, causing paralysis of the injected muscle.
It is a purified toxin that when used carefully and controlled by your practitioner can smooth and relax fine lines and wrinkles and yes is SAFE.
In 2002 Botulinum toxin became FDA approved (Food and Drug Administration) which means clinical trials have been made to evaluate the products safety and efficiency.
Are there certain risks associated with Botox?
Of course. As there are with any beauty/aesthetic treatments, even the likes of waxing etc. However before any treatment a thorough consultation will be carried out to eliminate the chance of risks by obtaining a medical history check.
We all know there’s a fine line don’t we, and there is always the fear of not looking like you.
But as the saying goes less is definitely more. Our belief is that Botox should be used as ‘the icing on the cake’ after a good skin regime is established at home and the skin is strong, healthy and of good texture. This will make a huge difference to how the end result of your injectable treatment will look.
What is the difference between botox and filler and what do I need?
Both are used to reduce signs of ageing however Botox will reduce the activity of the muscle whereas Filler will fill the line/troubled area. Upon consultation you will be professionally advised as to which would be best for you to give you the desired effect.
The areas that can be treated with Botox are as follows: forehead/frowns, crows feet, lip, chin, marionettes.
The look? a more youthful you! We all want to look our best for as long as possible and Botox is a great way to achieve that.
