It may only be March but that sun is HOT!

We all love the sunshine. It makes us feel happier and more alive. But, and it’s a big but, the sun is also the most damaging element for your skin.

We certainly don’t want to dampen your sunny day spirits, but it is really important that you protect your skin from damaging UV rays. The sun’s UV rays penetrate deep into the skin and can cause terrible damage to the cells. These cells are then at risk of becoming cancerous. Unfortunately you can’t feel the UV damaging your skin, so you need to make sure you are always protected.

If your skin gets sunburnt it will look red and might be sore. The skin may peel off to heal itself. You may then look as if your skin is back to normal, but permanent damage may have been done. To prevent this happening and to protect your skin (as well as to prevent unwanted signs of ageing) make sure you always use a high SPF cream on your face. You will still tan through suncream, and it will help to protect you from those nasty UV rays.

A gentle healthy glow is better than a bright red face and brown spots, so always use a sunscreen, even if it is only March…
